Book Haul/June & July Reads

**Slight update** Sooo…I originally made this post towards the end of June but never got around to posting it (Imposter syndrome, laziness, being in the middle of a pandemic as well as my own personal-ish). So some of the language might seem weird but I wanted to still leave it because well it still relates lol & I just don’t want to edit or delete what I’ve already done lol….but hope you enjoy 🙂

Hey ya’ll, how are you? Long time no post (*sigh* story of my blogging life). So, let’s just get right into it. This here post includes some books I’m recently reading or have read since the beginning of June as well as books I’ve picked up for July…..

Funny enough most of the books on this list are romance books…lol…if you’ve watched my Book Slump Video or seen my IG post then you know that I was at some point very much against reading back to back romance books….but heyy what can I say, I’m a sucker for a GOOD romance. (*pause…Hi my name is Damilola and I’m a sucker for good romance*……Emphasis on GOOD.) Lol…..

I’m going to try and do a better job of updating & using this site….I’m currently in the process of moving so getting in front of a camera to film feels a bit  daunting, but I want to establish some form of a habit…..so…without further-ado ….here are some of my June reads……

A). The Trouble with Hating you by Sajni Patel.….*spoiler* LOVED IT! Five stars, chefs kiss, brava …..alll that…currently working on a review (stay tuned)

B). Waiting to Exhale by Terry McMillan …..I have an upcoming wrap-up/post about this book…be on the lookout

C). Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan.…currently reading and listening on audio & thank goodness. The audio-book is helping to make it much more enjoyable for me ….but I’m still predicting a four/four & a half star review (*update…Ended up giving it 3-stars, cute read but got annoying towards the end….which was very lackluster for me*)

D). Tiny Imperfections by Alli Frank and Asha Youmans...so far…cute

My July Books…..

A) Hood Feminism: Notes from the Women That a Movement Forgot by Mikki Kendall

B) A Song of Wraiths & Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown *currently reading….don’t know how I feel about it ….hopefully it gets better for me

C) Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova

D) The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo – Actually not a new read for me…..I listened to it back in April/May and finally picked up a psychical copy. I’m also on the hunt (literally) for “Clap When You Land” I recently got it on audio so that should hold me over till I can get a psychical copy. But, back to the Poet X…..I love this book & highly recommend it.

🌟It’s all around 5-stars for me🌟

Hello…hii….pls enjoy this picture of me & my books 🙂

Till Next Time …….
